This album began last year when Arnab Mukerjee, a fellow user in a post rock forum, posted a great photo he had taken, remarking that he thought the picture, which is of a water tower under construction, would make a cool album cover. I said it would, shared our Bandcamp with him, and he agreed to let us use the cover. Then we spent the next eight months or so working on material that would live up to the cover art. I wanted an album that would be a counterpart to last year's release, Clutch The Hand Of Death, which was very dark and apocalyptic, and I wanted to push ourselves musically and not just do the same sort of arrangements, progressions, modes etc that we have done many times before. The result isn't exactly bright and cheerful, but it counterbalances its darker moments with brighter lines, hints of possible relief, and occasional optimism. We hope that Arnab enjoys it-
